Who We Are?

OEM is a non-profit, non-governmental,non-religious, civil society organization established in 2015 with the goal of preventing teenage pregnancy and HIV/AIDS as well as supporting teen mothers who conceive prematurely. OEM got a full legal personality under law no 04/2012 of 17/02/2012 especially in its articles 22&23 governing organization and functioning of Local Non-governmental organizations and through the authorization of Rwanda Governance Board by certificate of compliance No 176/RGB/NGO/LP/12/2017. After detecting that the teen mothers are surrounded by various problems of being harassed by their families and they end their stories in street life and sometimes they end up abandoning or killing their babies.OEM took the responsibility of reintegrating these teen mothers in their families and arranging shelters for those who don’t have families in order to rehabilitate them with the aim to protect them from violence, adopt the abandoned babies, and assigning to families for safe growth.

Nutrition

Based on monthly domicile visits of OEM to their beneficiaries, many cases of malnutrition were figured out and OEM helps teen mothers by providing food, after seeing a big gap in the growth of the teen mothers' children due to poverty and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inclusivity is one of OEM's major concerns, Disabled children born from teen mothers and children who are born from disabled mothers face various problems and mostly their needs are in three classes: medication, education, and nutrition.
